Flight Planning and Monitoring equips students with the essential skills to prepare, optimize, and supervise a flight from pre-departure to landing. The module covers key elements such as route selection, fuel planning, alternate aerodromes, weather analysis, NOTAM interpretation, and regulatory requirements.
Students learn to use operational flight plans (OFP), performance data, contingency fuel calculations, and in-flight monitoring techniques to ensure the flight remains within legal and safety limits. Special attention is given to decision-making, updated weather/traffic assessments, and handling deviations during the flight.
This course develops the foundation for safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations according to modern airline standards.
