Communications

This course provides student pilots with a comprehensive understanding of radiotelephony (RT) communications in both VFR and IFR environments. It covers standard ICAO communication procedures, phraseology, and operational requirements essential for safe and efficient interaction with Air Traffic Services (ATS). Special attention is given to the structure and use of aviation communication channels, emergency and urgency procedures, CPDLC principles, message formats, and communication discipline in complex and high-workload situations.
Upon completion, students will demonstrate the ability to apply correct RT phraseology, manage two-way radio communication in all phases of flight, and maintain situational awareness through effective and concise information exchange with ATC.
