KUAIT Delegation Paid a Working Visit to Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas

From 15 to 19 September 2026, a delegation of LLC “Kyiv University of Aviation and Information Technologies” paid a working visit to Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Kaunas, Republic of Lithuania.
The visit became a practical continuation of cooperation between the two universities, which had been initiated by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Kyiv.
During the working meetings, representatives of KUAIT and Vytautas Magnus University discussed in detail the next stage of their partnership, with the key focus placed on the establishment of a joint research and educational laboratory.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed on the basic approaches to organising the laboratory’s activities, including:
the operational format of the joint laboratory;
the main research, educational and innovation areas of its activity;
the thematic and technological content of the laboratory;
the composition of specialists and academic staff who will be involved in its work;
mechanisms for the participation of lecturers, researchers and students from both universities;
opportunities for implementing joint research, innovation and applied projects;
prospects for involving the laboratory in international programmes and project initiatives.
Particular attention was paid to the development of joint research in the fields of modern information and aviation technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital systems, innovation and technological development.
During the visit on 15–19 September 2026, an important preparatory stage was completed: the concept of the laboratory, its structure, scope of activities and the group of specialists who will be involved in its work were defined.
The representatives of the universities also discussed prospects for joint participation in international research and educational projects, academic exchanges, the implementation of joint study programmes, and the development of applied cooperation in the fields of innovation and technology.
The visit to Kaunas confirmed the shared interest of KUAIT and Vytautas Magnus University in moving from framework agreements to concrete joint projects and infrastructure solutions.
The next stage of cooperation will include the organisational and substantive formalisation of the joint laboratory’s activities, the formation of its working team, and the implementation of the first joint research and educational initiatives.

KUAIT and Vytautas Magnus University Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation

On 20 August 2026, LLC “Kyiv University of Aviation and Information Technologies” (KUAIT) and Vytautas Magnus University (VMU, Kaunas, Republic of Lithuania) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation.
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of Vytautas Magnus University by Rector Prof. Ineta Dabašinskienė, and on behalf of Kyiv University of Aviation and Information Technologies by Rector Rimvidas Khrashchevskyi.
The signing of the Memorandum establishes an institutional framework for developing long-term partnership between the two universities, strengthening academic ties between Ukraine and Lithuania, and implementing joint initiatives in education, science, research and innovation.
The Memorandum provides for cooperation in a number of priority areas, including:
initiation, development and coordination of joint research and innovation activities;
establishment of joint research, development and innovation centres;
exchange of documentation and research materials in areas of mutual interest;
exchange of academic staff for teaching, competence development, training and collaborative research;
reciprocal support for visits by academic staff and students.
An important aspect of the agreement is its focus on the practical implementation of the areas of cooperation identified by the two universities. Specific joint educational, scientific, research and innovation projects may subsequently be implemented by the relevant faculties, schools, institutes and other structural units of the universities under separate agreements defining the terms and mechanisms for their implementation.
This approach enables the Parties to move consistently from a general institutional framework for cooperation towards specific joint projects, academic exchanges, collaborative research and other forms of partnership.
For Kyiv University of Aviation and Information Technologies, cooperation with Vytautas Magnus University represents an important step in strengthening international academic relations and expanding partnerships with European higher education institutions.
The new partnership creates additional opportunities for KUAIT academic staff, researchers and students, promotes the exchange of academic experience, supports the development of international mobility, and facilitates the formation of joint research teams and the implementation of promising scientific and innovation initiatives.
Particular importance is attached to combining the academic, scientific and research potential of the two universities in areas of mutual interest, as well as to developing new formats of cooperation between their respective structural units.
The Memorandum does not create financial obligations for either university. The implementation of specific projects will depend on the availability of the necessary resources and, where required, will be governed by separate agreements between the Parties.
The document also establishes general principles concerning intellectual property, confidentiality and the protection of personal data in the implementation of joint activities and projects.
The Memorandum has been concluded for a period of five years.
Kyiv University of Aviation and Information Technologies highly values the partnership established with Vytautas Magnus University and looks forward to developing it through concrete educational, scientific and innovation projects.
The signing of the Memorandum marks another important step in KUAIT’s continued integration into the European Higher Education and Research Area, the development of international academic cooperation, and the creation of new opportunities for the University community.
